Ludgershall Castle Primary School Warmly Welcomes Service Families

At Ludgershall Castle Primary School, we are proud to welcome and support service children and their families into our school community where we hope that they will learn, have fun and succeed. We understand that moving home and changing schools can bring both excitement and uncertainty, and we are committed to building strong, positive relationships with every family from the very beginning. 

We believe every child, regardless of when they join us, should feel safe, valued, and happy within our school environment so they can learn with confidence, build friendships, enjoy new experiences, and thrive both academically and emotionally. 

Our team works closely with the Local Authority, military organisations, local schools, and a range of support agencies to ensure that service families receive high-quality educational and pastoral support throughout their time with us. Open communication and strong partnerships with families are at the heart of everything we do, helping us to understand each child’s individual needs and provide the right support at the right time. 

Our School and Staff

Approximately 21% of our pupils are currently part of serving military families or veterans who remain connected to the wider military community. As a smaller military community within the school, we are able to provide personalised support that helps children settle quickly, grow in confidence, and continue to make positive academic and emotional progress. 

Ludgershall Castle Primary School is a two-form entry primary school located within the local community near the Garrison Town of Tidworth. Our pupils come from both local and service families, with children living in Ludgershall, Tidworth, and surrounding villages. Many of our staff have their own service connections and can be identified by their purple staff lanyards.  They are uniquely placed and have lived experience either as being; military veterans, part of a service family or even that they were once service children themselves.
