At Ludgershall Castle Primary School, we are committed to raising standards in speaking and listening, reading and writing so that all children can function successfully as effective members of society, able to communicate their ideas and emotions to others in spoken and written language. All the skills of language are essential to participating fully as a member of society.

  • The English curriculum is delivered, using a cross curricular approach
  • Progression of English skills is ensured through the use of our learning ladders, linked to the National Curriculum
  • The National Curriculum Programmes of study are used to plan and teach in each year group
  • There are daily lessons of English in addition to cross curricular links and Reading Comprehension and Sounds-Write phonics(KS1) sessions.
