 The DfE has launched 'Preparing for School' to support parents in preparing their child for starting school this September.  The campaign highlights that being prepared is about everyday skills.  At the heart of the campaign is the Steps for School song - a music video featuring teacher-turned-rapper MC Grammar.  The video highlights practical steps parents can practice with their child to support their development and build confidence.

Starting Reception is a helpful online resource for families preparing their child to begin school. It offers clear, practical advice on building independence, establishing routines, supporting early communication, and helping children feel emotionally and socially ready for their first days in Reception.
